I wrote this on Bootcamp Buddies, and thought I'd include it here too.
**************************
You know, at one time the board of Me, Inc. (3 members--Me, Me, & Me) wanted to fire me---wanted to get security to throw me & my box of stuff out of the building! But I've sent myself to lots of inservices & trainings, done lots of at-home reading, and have been working overtime. I placed myself on probation, called in some consultants & efficiency experts, re-structured areas of the company, and devoted my 24/7 attention to the health and future of my company.
And you know what? I'm NOT going bankrupt!! Who better to be the CEO of my company than me? (I can't train anyone else for the job and expect them to care as much about the company as I do! Those who fail are those who didn't stick it out til they won, right?
EVERYthing that happens to us propels us forward into our life. So any past problems Me, Inc. has had only STRENGTHENED the foundation, and made us more wary of potential problems that may be rearing their ugly heads.
So, yes, you're right. One should be able to trust that they care more for their own company (and I mean the MAIN office--you know, ME!--not satellite offices--family, friends, etc. ) than for any other company out there.
So, what are the results of this meeting?
1. Daily written agendas (food plan/menu), to be composed the day before, to focus our attentions.
2. Daily morning motivational meetings (affirmations/prayer/self-talk).
3. Daily documentation (journaling) of actions, decisions, and ways to improve performance as they're noted.
4. Daily end-of-day review (10 minute evening focus on WW/reading/next-day agenda) of decisions made that work day.
4. Weekly written monitoring of progress (scale, NSV's, reflections) to be charted and reviewed monthly to clearly see trends.
Thank you for your attendance at this meeting. Now get out there and have a productive day! I'm sure we'll be getting bonuses very soon, as Me, Inc. just gets better and better!
