I have been doing water exercise off and one for about one year now. It has definitely improved my overall fitness, helped my posture, and increased my flexibility. Water exercise is unique, in that: 1. It is non-weight-bearing--so if you have a bad back, problems with knees, or are very overweight and trying to get in shape, this is the exercise for you. 2. It is a great workout in the summer when you don't want to be out running in 100+ heat! Here's a link to exercises you can do in the water. If you have any comments or questions, just post! www.aquademics.com/phpws/mod.php?mod=weblink&op=view_category&cid=8&start_num=0(click on the area titled "Fitness")

I've been doing water exercises off an on this summer too! 8-)I'm lucky that my parents have a pool and they only live one mile away! yay! Besides being easy on your body it's FUN to exercise in the water! If nothing us just play with your kids and moveeee! I like working with those noodles that you put in the water too...they help with resistance. I push them down into the water and bring the back up both with my arms and legs or lay back on them and pull my knees to my chest to work my stomach. Or just simply hold on and kick around in the water...anything to get your hurt rate up.

I've been looking at those noodles ;D at the YMCA and now I think I might play around with one. I tried the flippers and the kick board, but I felt like I was flying through the water--I guess I got too LITTLE resistance with that combination!
